unit 19 desktop project

For this project i looked at 4 different genres of gaming and looked at what images represented them. for horror/war i had images of monsters and fictional creatures. for Si-Fi i had the images of a man in space suit armour. and for fantasy i had the image of Mario and other creatures from the Nintendo game series.

horror- the horror genre is generally associated with gore and violence, games are normally set in a derelict environment with very little light and enemy are constantly jumping out at you.

War- the war genre is obviously set in a war environment such as the world war or sometimes in the medieval wars but these games are usually strategy games, where as most war games are first person shooters.

sci-fi- is set in space and normally has a completely fictional environment sci-fi games are usually RPG.

Fantasy- fantasy as a genre is harder to define as all games include a level of fantasy but the fantasy genre is usually made up of fictional creatures and are RPG games.

most games are a mixture of these genres such as the alien games which are both first person shooters (associated with war) and have aliens in (sci-fi). their are also games with don't come specifically under any of these categories such as sport games and racing games.
